Registration is open to any 3rd-8th grade boy living in the Waunakee Community School District & attending Waunakee schools. Players play at their own grade level for the upcoming school year. Annual registration period begins in early August & will remain open until early October. Participants will be placed on teams following grade-level evaluations in the fall of the year. The season will begin in November and runs until March - with some variation based upon grade level & team placement.

Teams representing Waunakee Hoops Club, Inc. participate in the Badger Developmental League. Some teams also choose to participate in tournaments throughout the state of Wisconsin. League games are covered as part of annual registration fees. Teams choosing to enter tournaments will be an additional cost, divided among participants. League & tournament games take place on the weekend & do include travel.

3rd-8th grade teams will practice 1-2 times each week at Waunakee schools. This is based upon coach and facility availability. Practice sessions typically occur within the November-March season during the week and last roughly 90 minutes.

The Badger Developmental League is the league our youth teams (grades 3-8) participate within. This is separate from the Waunakee Hoops Club, Inc.

1) The BDL offers divisions for a variety of ability levels to achieve our program goal of finding competitively-appropriate competition to promote progressive development among ALL our participants.

2) Divisional offerings across all grade levels (3rd-8th) within our organization's administration. 

3) Return on our investment! The BDL format allows for participating members to fund their youth programs through their hosted events.  

4) Locations of participating programs across the area allow for geographically convenient travel to/from games.

The Waunakee Youth Boys Basketball program is administered & supported by the Waunakee Hoops Club, Inc. Board of Directors & functions entirely through the work of our dedicated volunteers. Opportunities exist to volunteer in a variety of capacities. Each grade level will be under the direction of our grade-specific youth directors, with the help of identified grade-level leaders, as well as coaches, parents and other primary stakeholders. Our program annually hosts a fall 3-on-3 tournament (Haunted Hoops) and multiple BDL host weekends occurring in January and or February of each year. We will use the list of registered participants to communicate these opportunities to volunteer & appreciate our strong system of support to make these events occur for our kids every season!!
